It’s not a figment of your imagination—Lady Gaga’s “Perfect Illusion” is here.

After teasing it last month, the pop superstar unleashes her first solo single in nearly three years.

On the pop-rock track, produced by Gaga, Mark Ronson, Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker, and BloodPop, Gaga—who’s currently “taking a break” from actor fiancé Taylor Kinney—sings about a relationship gone wrong.

“It wasn’t love, it was a perfect illusion,” she belts.

Gaga spoke about the song’s inspiration during the iHeartRadio Music Summit. “The song is about modern ecstasy,” she explained. “We found our sweet, simple, ragey way of saying it… I get this sick adrenaline rush every time I hear it.”

Mother Monster has been in the studio working on the follow-up to 2013’s ARTPOP, and is also set to star alongside Bradley Cooper in Warner Bros.’ remake of A Star Is Born.
