The-Dream pays homage to Rihanna on a song off his forthcoming EP Love You to Death.
Before the full track drops Friday, Mr. Radio Killa posted a teaser for “Rih-Flex (Ode to Rihanna)” on Twitter. “She on that Rihanna flex,” he sings. “Now you need that love / Feels like you lost something that you never had / It was all that / Now, it’s all bad / That Rihanna flex.
“You can’t stand what they say about ya,” he adds. “But the one thing you can take from this, it’s made a man out ya / Oh, that Rihanna flex.”
The-Dream and RiRi go way back. As a composer, Terius Nash has said he earned “around $15 million” for his work on Bad Gal’s smash hit “Umbrella.” They also collaborated on his “Livin’ a Lie” track, and more recently, Dream was credited as a writer on “Woo” off this year’s ANTI.
Today, fans also got a taste of another Love You to Death cut as The-Dream teased “College Daze.” “I forgot about the things you did in college,” he sings. “Can you forget about them things I did l last night?”
Earlier this week, The-Dream announced the tracklisting for Love You to Death, which is set to feature five tracks, including “Lemon Lean,” “Madness,” and the singer-songwriter’s personal favorite, “Ferris Wheel.”
Love You to Death arrives Dec. 9.
