Vic Mensa takes flight with a new freestyle over Twenty One Pilots’ “Heathens.”
Backed by rock guitars and potent drums, the Roc Nation star boasts about his alliance with Jay Z. “I don’t rock diamonds,” he raps. “Only the Roc diamonds / That’s how I’m shinin’ / Big bro told me it was all about timin’ / So every roll call I make sure I’m signed in.”
But Hov isn’t Vic’s only megastar allegiance. “I fuck with Bad Boy like I’m Mario Winans,” he adds. “Puff know I got him if ni**as shootin’, I’m firin’.”
On the cover art, Vic is wearing a denim vest over a white T-shirt. He’s also rocking mascara while applying red lipstick to match the artwork’s lipstick-inspired lettering.

It’s been a big year for Vic, who dropped the critically-acclaimed There’s Alot Going On in June. The effort was filled with politically-charged tracks and last month, he continued his year-long work as an activist by standing with Standing Rock.
Twenty One Pilots has also had an impressive year with three singles (“Ride,” “Heathens,” and “Stressed Out”) hitting the top 5 on the Billboard Hot 100. Their album Blurryface also topped the Billboard 200 in June and helped earn them four Grammy nominations.
