Alessia Cara shows her growth—literally—in the music video for “Seventeen,” a single off her debut album Know-It-All.

Starting as a child riding the bus with her father, the Canadian songstress then turns into a teenager on the same bus, singing and dancing with a more rambunctious flare.

As the clip continues, Cara shows a more mature wardrobe, flaunting her Grammy and all. Eventually, an older Cara loves on her baby, who then grows to be a teenager, as well, bringing the whole thing full circle.

As the storyline progresses, Cara continues to age. “I was too young to understand what it means,” she sings. “I couldn’t wait ’till I could be seventeen / I thought she lied when she said take my time to breathe / Now I wish I could freeze the time at seventeen.”

Cara is full of new visuals. She also recently joined JoJo and DNCE’s JinJoo for an acoustic performance of Mad Love.’s “I Can Only” in a bathroom stall. Watch “Seventeen” above and “I Can Only” below.
