FOREVER ANTi PoP steps out the box with his debut EP Finessin’ the Rhythm. The 21-year-old rapper-singer-songwriter-producer showcases an array of talent on the self-produced 6-track project.
“I’m finessin’ the rhythm,” he raps on the title track. “I’m killin’ this shit.” Later, he boasts: “I just did molly with Kendall / I’m feelin’ myself just a little.”
While ANTi — who has a song titled “Kylie Jenner” on the EP — name drops Kendall, his guest David Sebastian has a rhyme about another famous person: Future. “I’m a futurist,” he raps. “I’m so over all this Future shit / Shoutout to Future, but we’re the future.”
The music video finds ANTi and David rolling through Los Angeles in a drop-top on their way to a shoot. After ghost riding the whip with no regard for safety, the duo has fun at the shoot in matching sunflower gear.
“You gotta create your own way into the industry; so I finessed the rhythm from day one,” says FOREVER ANTi PoP. “This song is for the hardworking guy, the guy with three jobs. Finessin’ the Rhythm is about hustling and sacrifice.”
Born in Tallahassee, but raised in Atlanta, ANTi PoP names Kanye West and T-Pain as major influences. Now, he’s trying to carve out his own lane.
“The goal is to introduce people to my music and message,” he says, “for them to learn and experience who I am.”
