Pharrell is turning his life into a musical.

On Monday (March 27), Fox announced that it has won the rights to Atlantis, a musical inspired by Pharrell Williams’ childhood in Virginia Beach, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The film reunites Williams with the studio he worked with as a producer on the Oscar-nominated Hidden Figures and it teams him up with Broadway director Michael Mayer (Spring Awakening, American Idiot).

Martin Hynes, who’s penning Toy Story 4, has signed on to write Atlantis. Williams and his longtime collaborator and producing partner Mimi Valdes are set to produce on behalf of i am OTHER with Gil Netter producing for Netter Productions.

The movie is currently being pitched as a “Romeo and Juliet-style story” with musical elements. It comes on the heels of the massive success of another musical, La La Land.

Skateboard P’s work in movies goes beyond Hidden Figures. He also produced Roxanne Roxanne, the Roxanne Shante biopic that recently debuted at Sundance. Outside of this, he’s worked on the music side of films like Despicable Me 2 and Dope.
