Lil Twist is free.
After being sentenced to one year in jail for assault, Lil Wayne’s protégé has been released. The 24-year-old was able to get out early, only serving seven-and-a-half weeks.
“I’m Home ! Thank God! #YM,” he wrote on Instagram earlier this week. “Thank God! Man! That’s not a place for nobody,” he added yesterday. “#YoungCarter Otw!”

In November, before being locked up, Twist announced a new EP, Young Carter. “bruh i been workin on this new ep im prepping called YOUNG CARTER,” he wrote. “on my life this shit is fire AF!!!!”
On Nov. 30, Twist was sentenced to a year in L.A. County jail for allegedly breaking into former Nickelodeon actor Chris Massey’s apartment, stealing his Rolex, and beating him up back in 2014.
In February, Twist reportedly turned himself in for a one-year sentence. He was released from jail two months later.
