Dior hits Calabasas.
Rihanna, Jhené Aiko, Big Sean, Nick Jonas, and Kelly Rowland were among the stars at the Upper Las Virgenes Canyon Open Space Preserve on Thursday (May 11), as Dior held its annual Cruise show in the hills of Calabasas.
Dubbed Diorchella for its festival-like ambiance, the event used nature as its backdrop. Dior ambassador Rihanna — one of the 800 guests who were shuttled in — even played along with that theme, sporting a fur coat and Dior wristbands, as if she were at Coachella.

Big Sean, who attended with his girlfriend Jhené Aiko, also applauded the desert atmosphere. “Yeah, [it’s] like a music festival,” he told W Magazine. “But more like…very vibe-y, hippy, bohemian.”
While Aiko said she “literally loved everything” about the show, Sean Don said it reminded him of Jhené’s wardrobe choices. “I feel like it was her style,” he said. “[Jhené] has been rocking for years that kind of style, so it was cool to see it in a Christian Dior way.”

Dressed in all white, Solange entertained the fashionable crowd with songs off her critically-acclaimed album A Seat at the Table, including “Cranes in the Sky” and “Don’t Touch My Hair.”
“I admittedly wrote a lot of this album after kinda being immersed in the fashion industry,” she said. “I’ve been very weary to tip my foot back in, but I gotta say, if I’m gonna do it, the love that’s in this space and in this tent tonight is how it should be done.”

Beyond its festival-like setting, the event also included a Western theme and Dior’s artistic director Maria Grazia Chiuri said she was happy to bring the Dior Cruise to Calabasas for a change. “We normally show in the city, in Paris or Rome,” she told The Hollywood Reporter. “But to give the experience of an open space is a good moment.”
Guests, including Charlize Theron, Laura Dern, Freida Pinto, Demi Moore, and Brie Larson, seemed to agree. “It was beautiful,” Rowland told W, while actress Haley Bennett added: “It went beyond just the visual experience. I didn’t know what to expect, but I did not expect this. It’s magical. I’ve never been to a show quite like this.”
