After penning tracks for Alicia Keys and Selena Gomez, among others, Polly A continues her soaring solo career with the release of “Just Like That,” the title track off her forthcoming sophomore EP.
Premiering on Rap-Up, “Just Like That” finds Polly singing about positive changes in her life over funky and atmospheric production. “It’s a new day,” she sings before lighting up her sage. “I got the plug, I got my squad, I ain’t been thinkin’ of you / I’ve been making moves.”
While the track takes on a carefree summer vibe, Polly explains how she plans on finding her wave out in California. “Just like that, I’ll fade to black when the vibe ain’t right,” she sings. “Hashtag facts, ain’t coming back, you should find your life / I’ma just roll, just moved to Cali, I’m trying to find my wave / I could show you how it could be.”
The Milwaukee born singer-songwriter — who also wrote the hook on J. Cole’s “Crooked Smile” — is getting ready to drop her sophomore EP Just Like That. The project follows last year’s Ghetto Gold Dream EP.
