August Alsina could be in trouble with the police after fans accused him of brandishing a weapon at a supermarket parking lot.
Four fans — three women and one man — reportedly approached the R&B singer for a photograph at a Food 4 Less grocery store in Los Angeles’ San Fernando Valley on Thursday (June 8), according to TMZ.
Alsina declined, saying he didn’t feel well. The singer recently revealed an ongoing battle with liver disease. However, the fans were persistent, according to the report. An employee witnessed the interaction and phoned the police.
Insiders say that the fans tried to follow August to his vehicle. Alsina reportedly pulled a gun out of his car and showed a portion of the weapon on his waistband as the photograph seekers approached.
August left the scene before officials arrived and no arrests were made. Cops took down a report of the alleged brandishing of a firearm, but say that the singer did not point the gun or make any verbal threats so the case may not lead to any further legal issues.
Earlier this month, Alsina released “Don’t Matter,” the lead single off his upcoming third studio album Drugs, which is due later this year. He has yet to address the supermarket incident.
