A$AP Twelvyy takes center stage.
After contributing to A$AP Mob’s material over the years, the New York MC ushers in a new era with the release of his solo debut album, 12, out now via A$AP Worldwide/Polo Grounds/RCA.
Although it’s a solo LP, Twelvyy brings some friends along for the ride. A$AP Ferg, A$AP Rocky, and Joey Bada$$ are just some of the guests on the 14-track set, which also includes contributions from Harry Fraud, Flatbush Zombies, Michael Rapaport, and Onyx’s Fredro Starr.
To celebrate the album’s release, Twelvyy links up with Ferg in the video for “Hop Out.” Inspired by the ’80s and ’90s, the visual features vintage effects and a roaring red Ferrari.
It may be his first album, but Twelvyy has plans to become a mainstay in the rap game. “I’m that old soul mixed with that new technology,” he said. “It’s been a long time comin’. I did my time in the shadows. I am next. I am now. I am forever.”
12 is just the start of AWGEST. Up next, A$AP Ferg will unleash Still Striving on Aug. 18 and A$AP Mob will drop Cozy Tapes, Vol. 2: Too Cozy on Aug. 25. Next month, the group is heading out on the “Too Cozy Tour,” which kicks off Sept. 23.
