After recreating a classic “Friends” episode with an all-star all black cast for “Moonlight,” JAY-Z unleashes a behind-the-scenes clip that pulls the curtain on his latest 4:44 visual.

Tessa Thompson, who portrayed Courtney Cox’s character Monica in the video, explained why the clip was both culturally relevant and exciting to participate in.

“We wanted to have a conversation about diversity and inclusion, which is something that is really ripe in the cultural conversation at this moment,” said Thompson. “To be able to do it in an artful way, with such talented cohorts, and in a way that’s creative and open to interpretation could be so interesting. And then, of course, the chance to do my best Courtney Cox.”

Jerrod Carmichael, who portrays David Schwimmer’s character Ross, agreed with this assertion. “I do think that it’s art,” he said. “It makes people think and it’s fun. Most importantly, it’s fun.”

The video also features Issa Rae as Rachel, Tiffany Haddish as Phoebe, Lil Rel Howery as Joey, and Lakeith Stanfield as Chandler. Meanwhile, comedian Hannibal Buress plays himself.
