Macklemore takes on a JAY-Z classic, while comparing hip-hop to the NBA in a freestyle for Hot 97’s Funkmaster Flex.

Over the Kanye West-produced “Lucifer” beat off The Black Album, the Seattle rapper unleashes a slew of bars about rap and basketball’s biggest names.

“If Jay is Jordan, and Kendrick is LeBron,” he raps. “And Drake is Westbrook, and Durant is Big Sean / That means that Cole is Curry and Eminem is Bird / And I’m not playing in the league to sit behind Dirk / I said one ring? Fuck that, I’m on my third.”

The freestyle arrives shortly before his sophomore solo album, Gemini, the follow-up to his 2005 debut, The Language of My World. Featuring Lil Yachty (“Marmalade”), Offset (“Willy Wonka”), and Skylar Grey (“Glorious”), Macklemore’s first LP since parting ways with Ryan Lewis is due Sept. 22.

Over the weekend, Mack announced that the deluxe edition will feature a 28-page zine with original pictures and more in a humorous video, in which he was accompanied by his daughter Sloane.
