Vic Mensa is “Rollin’ Like a Stoner” in the trippy video from his debut The Autobiography.

While singing about being an anti-social rockstar with “a problem,” Vic takes fans on a neon-colored journey through the night in the self-directed clip. The video takes on additional symbolism, as the Roc Nation spitter swerves through the city with friends who appear and disappear.

Symbolic motifs continue throughout the clip. In one scene, Vic finds himself in front of a mirror, looking on as devil horns appear on his head. In another, a young Vic gets tucked into a spinner-equipped car-bed by his mother. Finally, the rapper falls backwards off a stage, seemingly into an empty pit.

“The ‘Rollin’ Like a Stoner’ video is about reckless abandon and escapism,” said Vic. “The whole thing was filmed on a stage, as a comment on life as an entertainer. I was watching films like Bye Bye Life and Birdman, and 1920s westerns.”

“Rollin’ Like a Stoner” follows past Autobiography singles like “Rage” and “OMG.” Up next, he’s hosting a TIDAL concert for hurricane relief in New York (Sept. 30) and joining TIDAL X: Brooklyn, where JAY-Z, Jennifer Lopez, and more are teaming up for natural disaster aid and recovery (Oct. 17).

After that, Mensa will be joining his mentor Jigga on the “4:44 Tour,” which is set to run from Oct. 27 in Anaheim through Dec. 21 in Los Angeles.
