Boosie Badazz pays tribute to LL Cool J.

Taking on James Todd Smith’s persona and influence, Lil Boosie unleashes “I’m Bad,” a new track and visual off his upcoming album, BooPac.

Over Dirty South production, chimes, and sirens, Badazz puts his spin on the 1987 classic. “No rapper spitting lyrics quite like I can,” he raps. “I’ll take a pussy-ass ni**a and put his face in the sand.” In ’87, LL kicked off his own “I’m Bad” off Bigger and Deffer in a similar way: “No rapper can rap quite like I can / I’ll take a musclebound man and put his face in the sand.”

The video finds Boosie dressed up as LL, too, with a red Kangol bucket hat cocked slightly and red jogging pants to match. His wrists and bare chest are adorned by glittery ice, an update on LL’s legendary gold rope chains. Standing in front of fancy rides, he keeps adidas on his feet. Later, he rocks the same outfit in yellow and black before driving off with a model by his side.

Following a visual for “Dirty Diary,” “I’m Bad” is a single off Boosie’s forthcoming album BooPac, which was inspired by another hip-hop legend, Tupac Shakur. The project is due Dec. 15.
