Drake continues to break the charts.
“God’s Plan” debuted atop the Hot 100 and helped Drizzy dethrone JAY-Z for most top 10s among rappers. Now, along with “Diplomatic Immunity,” which bowed at No. 7, he has at least 20 Hot 100 top 10s in a single decade, a feat only The Beatles have reached and surpassed.
Both Scary Hours tracks boost Drake’s 2010s total to 20. The run began with “Find Your Love” in 2010 and has included a myriad of tracks, including his first No. 1 as a lead artist, “One Dance,” which featured Kyla and WizKid, according to Billboard.
The Beatles were previously the first group to reach 20 Hot 100 top 10s in any decade, doing so mostly with No. 1s. The Fab Four’s smashes from 1964 through 1969 included “I Want to Hold Your Hand” and “Something.” Overall, they nabbed 18 No. 1s and 12 additional top 10s during that period.
Others have also had many top 10s during different decades, but none reached the 20-song marker. Among the leaders are Elton John (16 in the 1970s), Madonna and Michael Jackson (17 apiece in the 1980s), Mariah Carey (19 in 1990), and JAY-Z (14 in the 2000s).
Drake, who has the most Hot 100s ever among all solo artists with 159, has the rest of 2018 and all of 2019 to bump up his stats with additional hits. Following Scary Hours, the 6 God is now working on a follow-up to More Life with contributors like Bad Bunny, Pierre Bourne, and London On Da Track.
