Them Texas boys ain’t playin’. Bun B joins forces with Slim Thug and Lil Keke on “Knowhatimsayin,” the lead single from his upcoming album Return of the Trill.
The trunk-knocking cut features Lone Star State-inspired references to candy-painted rides, Swishahouse, and the late Pimp C.
“This that ‘Man, hold up’ shit,” raps the Trill one. “That Styrofoam cup shit / That ’84s and vogues flows that ni**as can’t fuck with / Tippin’ on 44s shit, slammin’ Cadillac doors shit / That not only is it real, but it’s realer than yo’ shit.”
Slim Thugga offers an R.I.P. to Pimp C while reppin’ UGK. “H-Town, Texas, these boys ain’t playin’,” he raps. “UnderGround Kingz, we the kings of this land.” Keke adds: “Ain’t no secret what I claim / Got a trunk full of speakers, ni**as, diamonds on his chain.”
Last month, Bun B announced his upcoming fifth solo album, Return of the Trill. The project, which follows 2013’s Trill OG: The Epilogue, is due March 16.
