Beyoncé Brings Out J Balvin for 'Mi Gente' at Coachella

BY Andres / 4.22.2018

After making history with Beychella, Beyoncé delivered a few surprises for Coachella’s second weekend on Saturday (Apr. 21).

Some of those new touches came in her wardrobe. Instead of a yellow hoodie, Queen Bey swapped it out for a pink one. Her Nefertiti-inspired Balmain outfit was white instead of black, and she also wore a shimmering pink sweatshirt at one point.

J Balvin was the evening’s surprise guest. The Colombian sensation popped up for the global dance party “Mi Gente (Remix)” with the queen. “ESTO ES PA LOS LATINOS Y EL MUNDO,” Balvin wrote on Instagram, which translates to “This is for the Latinos and the world.”

Otherwise, Queen Bey kept much of her critically-heralded show intact with minor shifts. Destiny’s Child returned for “Lose My Breath,” “Say My Name,” and “Soldier,” wearing shiny silver outfits instead of the black and brown army-inspired ensembles.

Solange also reemerged during “Get Me Bodied.” This time, however, their mini dance battle ended with a fall, as Bey failed to pick her sister up and they tumbled to the floor. The Knowles sisters played it off with laughter.

Bey made history as the first black woman to headline Coachella. Her acclaimed set was also the most-watched ‘Chella performance on YouTube in the history of their live stream partnership. To celebrate her momentous Beychella set, ‘Yoncé donated $100,000 to students from historically black colleges and universities.
