Cardi B’s manager is making “Money Moves” of his own in the courtroom. Klenord “Shaft” Raphael is suing Bardi for $10 million, claiming he launched her career, according to TMZ.

Raphael started working with Cardi in 2015 and claims responsibility for her connection to VH1’s “Love & Hip Hop.” Additionally, he says he taught her the industry’s ins and outs and provided his personal team of writers and producers for her chart-topping smash, “Bodak Yellow.”

Moreover, Raphael is accusing Cardi of defaming him by telling her fiancé Offset and others that he was robbing her. In December, Raphael says that Offset sent him an angry text. “[U] better stop play acting like u don’t know u taking her sh** from her u a snake,” Offset allegedly wrote. “U can’t hide from me N**** and u not bout to play my WIFE.”

“Since discovering Cardi B in 2015, Shaft has played an integral role in developing her music career and public image,” Raphael’s rep explains. “While he is proud of their successful collaborations as she evolved from Instagram influencer to music megastar, Shaft is disappointed by her actions to freeze him out of her career, which are detailed in the complaint. Shaft is confident that his lawsuit will validate his conduct and substantiate his legal claims.”

Bardi and Offset are currently awaiting their first baby, who is due in July. Earlier today, Bardi also canceled a series of summer shows, but she will return for Bruno Mars’ “24K Magic World Tour” in September. Her debut album Invasion of Privacy topped the Billboard 200 in its first week.
