Nas is set to release his 11th studio album Nasir tonight via Mass Appeal/Def Jam.
Just hours before it drops, the hip-hop icon has revealed the powerful black-and-white cover art for his first new solo release since 2012’s Life Is Good. All seven tracks were produced by Kanye West, who revealed the tracklisting earlier this week.
“Nas sounds like 2028 Nas,” Pusha-T told Angie Martinez last month. “With Nas particularly, ‘Ye is such a fan that he can pull all the greatest moments in seven songs, and update that energy. He knows how to harness that energy, update that energy beat-wise, and Nas just gets to be him.”
West was also the creative director for the accompanying Cali Thornhill Dewitt-designed merch collaboration, which will be available on shop.nasirjones.com.
Fans can tune in for the live premiere of Nasir tonight via the Mass Appeal YouTube channel. The listening party starts at 9 p.m. EST.
Nasir is the fourth of five consecutive weekly albums produced by West, following Pusha T’s Daytona, Kanye West’s ye, and Kanye and Cudi’s Kids See Ghosts. Next week, Teyana Taylor will cap things off with her sophomore album.
