Cardi B is coming to Offset’s defense.

The “Bodak Yellow” rapper says her husband was targeted by “hip-hop cops” after being arrested in Georgia last week on gun charges, and is vowing to stick by her man.

Sources close to Cardi tell TMZ that she questions the reason behind the arrest, for which Offset was booked on two felony gun charges. She agrees with Offset’s lawyer, claiming he was pulled over for being a rich and successful black rapper.

Offset’s attorney Drew Findling tells TMZ that the Migos rapper didn’t break any laws, and cops used a lane change as an excuse to arrest him. “It’s a common theme,” says Findling. “We’re talking about a young, African-American man driving a shiny, beautiful luxury car and clad in designer clothes and watches and jewelry.”

He adds, “Unfortunately people in his genre become a target for law enforcement who think that lifestyle is connected to some illegal activity … and that is a sad statement.”

Findling says Offset was not in possession of any firearm and that the passenger in his Porsche, his bodyguard, was a licensed gun holder who had firearms for security. According to the attorney, Offset doesn’t own any firearms.

Additionally, the officer who arrested Offset did not conduct a field sobriety test, despite claiming he observed the rapper crossing a solid yellow line and then smelled weed in the car. Offset had less than an ounce of weed on him, which is a petty offense. He was ultimately arrested for possession of a firearm, putting the validity of the traffic stop in question.
