Make way for the Queen.
Nicki Minaj will take the stage at the 2018 MTV Video Music Awards on Aug. 20. The rap queen will perform a new song at an iconic location in New York, marking the “first time a major awards show will televise a performance from the surprise location,” reports Variety.
“Performing something new from #Queen,” said Nicki, who joined Katy Perry to perform “Swish Swish” during last year’s VMAs.
Just days before on Aug. 17, Minaj is set to release her long-awaited album Queen. Tonight, she will launch her new Queen Radio show on Apple Music’s Beats 1.
Nicki joins previously announced performers Travis Scott, Post Malone, Ariana Grande, Logic, Shawn Mendes, and Jennifer Lopez, who will receive the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award.
The 2018 VMAs will air live from New York’s Radio City Music Hall on Monday, Aug. 20, at 9 p.m. EST. Cardi B leads with 10 nominations, followed by The Carters with eight.
