Kanye West took fans to “XTCY” by dropping a new song on Friday night (Aug. 10).
The cover art features a photo of the five Kardashian-Jenner sisters at Kylie’s 21st birthday earlier this week, while the song also references the sisters. “You got a sister-in-law you would smash, I got four of ’em,” raps Ye. “Damn, those is your sisters / You did something unholy to them pictures / Damn, you need to be locked up / Nah, we need a bigger hottub.”
DJ Clark Kent inspired Kanye to drop the trippy track. “Sitting in the studio with my man @kanyewest and he said.. ‘Clark, let that new ‘XTCY’ joint go!!! So.. ENJOY: NEW KANYE WEST,” tweeted Kent along with a link to a free download.
“XTCY” originally appeared on the whiteboard while Kanye was recording ye, leading to speculation that it could be a leftover from the Wyoming sessions.
During his appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on Thursday, Kanye defended his thoughts on Donald Trump. Following the interview, the President thanked Kanye for his continued support.
“Thank you to Kanye West and the fact that he is willing to tell the TRUTH,” he tweeted. “One new and great FACT – African American unemployment is the lowest ever recorded in the history of our Country. So honored by this. Thank you Kanye for your support. It is making a big difference!”
