Case of the ex. Four years after their highly-publicized breakup, Nicki Minaj and Safaree Samuels continue their war of words.
While promoting her new album Queen during a visit to Funkmaster Flex on Hot 97, the Queen was asked about her ex-boyfriend Safaree’s attempt to discredit her pen game by claiming he penned her lyrics.
“The world knowing that other big female MCs have gotten people to write for them, he knew by saying that, it wouldn’t be a stretch,” said Nicki. “He knew by so many people always wanting to tear me down in some way, and they just couldn’t find something to tear me down with, he knew that was it,” she said. “The only reason he did that was because he was hurting inside. He shitted on me and finally got shitted on.”
Safaree’s writing accusations did not sit well with Nicki, who proudly pens her own lyrics. She accused him of stealing her credit card and paying for prostitutes during their relationship.
“For one person to do something like this to me out of sheer weakness and passive aggression and just hatefulness and vindictiveness, because you got caught shittin’ on a person that was taking care of you for years and years… Because you got caught shittin’ on a person who was taking care of you while you were paying for prostitutes and stealing their credit cards and doing all types of dumbass shit.”
Safaree didn’t take kindly to the comments. Taking to Twitter, he denied that he claimed to write her rhymes and didn’t steal her credit card. He also accused her of “messing with meek a few years b4 y’all got together.”
In a shocking revelation, the “Love & Hip Hop” star claims that he almost died after Nicki cut him, but he covered it up. “Remember the night you cut me and i almost died the police and ambulance had to take me out the crib on a stretcher and I had to lie and tell them I was trying to kill myself so they wouldn’t take you to jail,” he said. “When things like that start happening more Than once it’s time to dip.”
Nicki doubled down on her claim that Safaree stole her credit card and says he came to her house crying and begging to go to Europe with her.
The beef got even uglier when Nicki took aim at Safaree’s hairline, saying she paid $10,000 for him to have hair surgery. “I should’ve never paid for that gyatDamn hairline!!!! It fell back out cuz God don’t like ugly!!!! You used me but God had other plans!!!!!” she said.
She also says Tyga had his hairline corrected by the same doctor, which Safaree denies. “1st off Me and tyga didn’t go to the same dr. We did it the same day. Diff doctors,” he said, adding that her comments could be a publicity stunt to boost album sales.
“Listen I don’t know if this has to do with 1st week sales but you need to finish your zen. And don’t talk about vh1 checks cuz the way you’re acting it’s like your auditioning to be on LHH.”
Nicki plans to tell more of her side of the story during the next episode of Queen Radio on Beats 1 this Thursday (Aug. 16).
