Nicki Minaj, Cardi B Slam Tomi Lahren Over 21 Savage Comments

BY Devin / 2.4.2019

Nicki Minaj and Cardi B may not get along, but they can agree on one thing: They’re not fans of Tomi Lahren.

Both rappers have slammed the Fox News commentator following her comments about 21 Savage, who is facing deportation after being arrested by ICE following claims that he is actually from the United Kingdom and overstayed his visa.

“I got one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight ICE agents ready to deport ya,” Lahren tweeted on Sunday (Feb. 3).

Cardi B, who previously sparred with Lahren on Twitter over the government shutdown, clapped back, writing, “Don’t make me get my leash.”

Lahren responded to the “Money” rapper. “Here’s something maybe we can agree on, our immigration system is broken,” she tweeted. “We need to keep our country safe while also making sure people who work hard, contribute and don’t leech off the system are able to LEGALLY immigrate here. I’m a fan of @21savage and I’m a fan of yours.”

On Monday (Feb. 4), Nicki Minaj also took to social media, blasting the conservative commentator in defense of her “No Flag” collaborator. “Your obsession w/our culture is scary to say the least,” tweeted the Queen. “I hate giving you the attention you so desperately crave. Laughing @ ppl getting deported as if your ancestors discovered America. Are you Native American? You fkn clown.”

Lahren shot back at Minaj. “When you’re in the country illegally, you get deported. I didn’t write the law and neither did ICE. They enforce it. I hope @21savage is able to get an entertainment visa or become a citizen one day,” she wrote, adding, “P.S. My ancestors did discover America.”

ICE says 21 Savage, who has claimed to be from Atlanta, is an “unlawfully present United Kingdom national” who came to the U.S. on a visa in July 2005. His visa expired a year later and he has been living illegally ever since.

His lawyer, Charles H. Kuck, says Savage never hid the fact that he was in the U.S. illegally, and that ICE is trying to intimidate him into leaving the country. Kuck tells TMZ that his client applied for a U-Visa back in 2017 and the application is pending, and ICE has known about it but didn’t take action until now.

Others including Meek Mill, Offset, and Wale have shared support for Savage amid his potential deportation. “Free 21,” tweeted Meek, while Offset added, “PRAYING FOR MY DAWG AINT SHIT FUNNY HIS FANILY DEPENDING ON HIM.”
