Russell Wilson and Ciara have millions of reasons to celebrate.
On Monday night (April 15), the Seattle Seahawks quarterback agreed to a four-year extension worth $140 million, making him the highest-paid player in the NFL. The deal, which includes a $65 million signing bonus and a no-trade clause, surpasses Aaron Rodgers’ deal with the Green Bay Packers.
But instead of going out to celebrate his record-breaking deal, the 30-year-old Wilson posted a video in bed with Ciara. “Hey Seattle, we got a deal,” said Wilson while cuddling in the sheets with his wife. “Go Hawks. But I’ma see y’all in the morning. Time for y’all to go to bed.”
Since being drafted by the Hawks in 2012, the five-time Pro Bowler has led the Hawks to a Super Bowl victory during the 2013 season. Seattle has reached the playoffs six of the seven years he’s been under center.
Taking to social media, Ciara congratulated her husband and father of their daughter Sienna. “Soooo proud of my love @DangeRussWilson,” she tweeted. “So excited Seattle is home! God is so good. The hardest working man I know! You inspire me so much! #GoHawks @Seahawks.”
She continued, “I watch you put everything on the line every Sunday in pure amazement. Your dedication, consistency & commitment to the game never wavers. Always the first person in & the last person out. You’re 1 of 1. The hardest working man I know! Proud of You.”
