“Hot Girl Summer” is about to get even hotter.
Megan Thee Stallion is reportedly teaming up with Nicki Minaj on her highly-anticipated new single, which also features Ty Dolla $ign. Fans noticed that Nicki’s name appears when you Shazam the song using the music discovery app.
The track was originally expected to drop last Friday, but Megan delayed its release by one week, possibly to add Minaj.
“Hotties I kno I said my song ‘HOTGIRL SUMMER ‘ would be dropping tomorrow but now it’s dropping 8/9 ! I promise it’s sooo worth the wait,” she tweeted.
The Houston rapper has been teasing “Hot Girl Summer” on social media. “She a big ole freak, it’s a must that I hit / It’s a hot girl summer so you know she got a lick,” Ty sings on the track, which also appears to feature vocals from City Girls’ J.T.
Fans have been anxiously awaiting a collaboration between Megan and Nicki. Last month, the two went live together on Instagram, where Megan pleaded with Minaj for a collaboration before making plans to meet up in Los Angeles. “We need the Queen,” she said.
During the session, Megan praised Nicki (“Stop playing with Nicki Minaj like she ain’t the motherfu**in’ GOAT!”), who in turn thanked her for the support (“It means the world to me”).
