Halloween 2017: Cardi B, Chance the Rapper, Usher, Jhené Aiko, & More

  /  11.01.2017

Hip-hop and R&B’s biggest stars went all out while dressing up for Halloween with elaborate costumes that dazzled, raised eyebrows, shocked, and frightened fans.

Some opted to go the fun route. Fabolous and his family continued their annual tradition, dressing up as “The Family Guy” cast, with each member portraying a different character on the show. Chrissy Teigen and John Legend also had some laughs as Carmen Miranda and Groucho Marx. Meanwhile, Nas channeled legendary comedian Richard Pryor with his Afro, mustache, and classic red suit.

Other stars opted to dress like fellow musicians. While JAY-Z and Beyoncé replicated Notorious B.I.G. and Lil’ Kim’s looks, Chance the Rapper and his girlfriend Kristen Corley dressed up as Tupac Shakur and Jada Pinkett. Diddy took it to the ’80s, rocking gold rope chains, a cocked Kangol, and an eyepatch a la Slick Rick, posing like The Ruler once did on his Great Adventures album cover.

Scare tactics were also on display this Halloween. Alicia Keys wore a frightening skull costume, while Swizz Beatz dressed up as Sloth from the Goonies. Meanwhile, Lady Gaga was Edward Scissorhands, Rita Ora was Poison Ivy, and Monica Brown was It’s Pennywise. Monica and her whole fam got in on the Halloween spirit, showing off their spooky costumes in a forest photo shoot.

Movie-inspired costumes were also popular. Cardi B, Remy Ma, and Dreezy all dressed up as Cruella de Vil with Bardi calling herself Bruella. The “Bodak Yellow” star even had a Dalmatian with her to complete the look. Elsewhere, LL Cool J threw on an Afro as Shaft, while Fergie turned into Tinkerbell, and Wiz Khalifa became Wayne from Wayne’s World. Party time!

Television shows were also a source of inspiration for many including Kehlani, who went as Flaca from “Orange Is the New Black,” donning Litchfield’s now-famous jumpsuit, while her girlfriend went as BFF Maritza. Kid Ink donned Negan’s leather jacket, scaring “Walking Dead” fans with his baseball bat, Lucille. Meanwhile, Normani Kordei, Lori Harvey, Justine Skye, and Sevyn Streeter became the “Powerpuff Girls.”

Power couples also got in on the “Boo!” action. Ty Dolla $ign and Lauren Jauregui transformed into the Mad Hatter and Alice from Alice in Wonderland, while Mac Miller and Ariana Grande morphed into Zoolander’s Mugatu and Henchwoman Katinka. G-Eazy and Halsey stunted in front of a private plane as Han Solo and Princess Leia, while Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel took their son Silas out as Buzz Lightyear, Jessie, and Woody from Toy Story.

Artists went in with some creative incognito costumes, too. Tyga did more than just put on a mask for Halloween. The former Cash Money star actually dressed up as The Mask, going green for the evening. Ludacris was also unrecognizable in his Stormtrooper mask, while Usher took on the persona of the Night King from “Game of Thrones.”
