In the second part of our interview with Melanie Fiona, the soulstress shared which artists she would like to collaborate with on her sophomore album The MF Life, including B.o.B, Bruno Mars, and fellow Canadian Drake.
She and Drizzy go way back, performing together as teens in the group The Renaissance. “We go back to singing in cocktail lounges and basements,” she told Rap-Up TV. “We’re just both so proud of each other, so I definitely want to see that collaboration happen.”
Plus, Melanie revealed the two singers that left her starstruck. “One was Brandy, I love Brandy. Grew up listening to her. I think she’s one of the dopest female vocalists in the music industry, period,” she stated.
The other was Prince, who a nervous Melanie had the chance to perform for at a BET event. “I’ve never been so shook by anybody’s energy in my whole life, but his was extremely powerful. I didn’t even want to look at him,” she recalled.
