New Music: Michael Jackson – ‘Breaking News’

Breaking News

Stop the presses! A new recording, allegedly by Michael Jackson, has been released by Sony. The song, titled “Breaking News,” was recorded in 2007 in New Jersey where the King of Pop and his kids lived for four months.

Michael’s mother Katherine, his children, and other members of his family believe it is not Michael’s voice on the track, reports TMZ.

Sony has performed voice authentications and claims the song is the real deal. It will be included on Michael, a collection of never-before-heard recordings, due December 14.

Do you think this is the real MJ? Decide for yourself by listening here.

Who the hell wrote this? He would never refer to himself in third person. Unless its unreleased stuff from when he was actually active, Sony needs to stop. Throwing the current shitty producers and writers on here to ‘fix up’ his stuff is just an epic fucking fail. And lets be honest, we love him for the music he used to make, not this desperate “lets fit into whats going on now” bull shit.

I don’t think its him. But whether or not it doesn’t really make a diff, his death is being exploited. The only person not making any money off of these sales are MJ himself.
So even if it is the real deal, the whole situation is sad.

those of you who do not think this is Michael you are the ones who really need to keep in mind in 2001 Michael did a song called 2000 watts He is very versitile with his vocals. Why the family is saying that they don’t think it is Michael I am not sure as we do not know the whole story between sony and the Jackson family yes we know what they did to Michael but also keep in mind that Michael still owns half of sony

What I think, is he had some vocals on a demo version of this song, but never recorded the full thing, so they instead mixed his vocals with that of a (not even that good) sound-a-like. But this song do go ham though, I might just download this album from a file-sharing website, because if these songs ain’t Michael, sony ain’t getting a dime from me

ok people…. yes it does sounds a lil like michael, but at first it sounds like someone else, with michael chrous during the song!!! I like that they want to keep Michael under the spotlight, but don’t do him like that, yall are still bringing shame to him, even tho he is dead. Sony, Michael said yall are a piece of shit…. Let Michael rest, and put out songs that he did made while he was alive, its what his fans love, the real Michael not a fake one!!! I still listens to his music, and I will forever will, but I don’t won’t to listen to no music that sounds like Michael, but isn’t him, Michael real fans will know the difference, Sony…. SO, yes, Yall GO TO HELL!!! R.I.P. MICHAEL JO. JACKSON, LUV U ALWAYS!!!

FROM THESE COMMENTS I CAN ALREADY TELL MOST OF YOU ARE THE “FANS” WHO ONLY EVER LISTENED TO THRILLER. THESE ARE THE TYPE OF VOCALS MICHAEL USED AND SONGS MICHAEL WROTE IN A GOOD PORTION OF BAD, DANGEROUS, HIStory, BLOOD ON THE DANCE FLOOR, AND INVINCIBLE. THIS IS -VERY MUCH- MICHAEL JACKSON.

THIS IS THE KIND OF HARDCORE NEW JACK SWING MICHAEL BECAME FOND OF AFTER QUINCY JONES INTRODUCED MICHAEL TO NEW JACK SWING PRODUCER TEDDY RILEY, WHO C0-PRODUCED THE DANGEROUS ALBUM. THIS IS ONE OF MICHAEL’S MANY STYLES.

GO LISTEN TO MICHAEL’S SONG MORPHINE – YOU PROBABLY WOULD HAVE SAID THAT THAT WASN’T MICHAEL JACKSON, RIGHT? YOU’RE IGNORANT. IF YOU DON’T KNOW YOUR STUFF, SHUT UP. I KNOW MY MICHAEL JACKSON.

AS FOR THE FAMILY, ALTHOUGH I LOVE AND SUPPORT THEM, AND UNDERSTAND WHY THEY ARE DENYING THIS IS MICHAEL JACKSON…..

KEEP IN MIND THAT THEY ALSO DENIED THAT IT WAS REALLY MICHAEL JACKSON IN THE “THIS IS IT” DOCUMENTARY, SAYING IT WAS AN IMPERSONATOR.

WHY WOULD THEY DO THIS? BECAUSE IT MUST BE REALLY HARD TO BE CONSTANTLY REMINDED OF YOUR BROTHER’S/SON’S/DAD’S DEATH CONSTANTLY.

this track is ballin’ and it’s Michael obviously.

ayo, A said it, his family didn’t even want This is It released and they said it wasn’t really Michael in that. They just don’t want any MJ nething released…

    [Reply]

  37. mj12932

it clearly is him listen to some of his unreleased tracks and demos if you think his voice is different. none of you would be saying anything about it if the family hadnt mentioned it they didnt want to release this album and are just after his money they even said there was a impersonator in the this is it movie. and this was recorded in 2007 and sounds like every other track around that time. sounds like it was a demo track but it is him

    [Reply]

  38. YouAlreadyknow

Even if it’s not him, that beat and music sounds like something he would use

    certain ad-libs?
    Possible

But c’mon man! This shit isn’t him!

    [Reply]

  43. Suraj

    it IS him..
a VERY heavily processed version of him..because this was produced and finalized after he died..so they had to fill in the gaps with a processed version of his voice…they could have done better..WAY better..
because sometimes it sounds like him..which is probably the part he recorded when he was still alive..but it wasnt a full song he recorded..so they had to fill it in

having said that..im sure he had at least an albums worth of songs he FULLY recorded instead of this garbage

    [Reply]

  44. babygirl

Nah, it’s not him. Listen CLOSELY to his vocals and you can tell.

    [Reply]

  45. Dillon_68

    I think it’s him.

    [Reply]

  46. joey

i personally think its him. cause we really dont know what his voice has been like in the last few years. he may have gotten deaper, more raspy. never know

    [Reply]

  47. Rachel

Yeah, but his voice isn’t raspy on the song, it’s weak. Doesn’t sound like him at all.

    [Reply]

  48. Max

To all who say smth like “we didn’t hear his vocals since 2001″, “it’s been transformed” etc.

Actually we have some of his vocals from 2008! Remember remixes with will.i.am on “25 Anniversary of Thriller”? There are his “last voice” on few remixes – some songs were recorded again vocally. “Breaking News” was recorded in 2007 according to Sony press release.

Just listen to “P.Y.T. 2008″ and you will hear the difference…

    IT’S NOT MICHAEL!

  49. Not An MJ Fan

    This shit aint him.

    [Reply]

  50. David

It just hasn’t got the spirit, or the heavy weight songwriting geniuse of the real man. The vocals are shallow and over produced to hide the short comings. My best guess is 5% of the vocals are lifted from a mj demo and the rest is design singers(impersonators)

    [Reply]

  51. JMystery

I’m horrified. SO NOT MICHAEL! Disgusted in Sony… but tbh it’ll grow on me… and i’m 15 btw, so no, you do not have to be 35 to know what Michael sounds like!

    [Reply]

  52. Gbengito

bullshit….trying to rip people off with fake sounds>…..people who claim they’ve listened to MJ’s recordings and that this shit is him should check again….The reason mike was d best was bcos his songs had spirit and his style and voice were exclusive to only him….its obvious its not him.Chris brown could actually fake michael’s voice better.

    [Reply]

  53. Tronz

Whether its michael or not will be debated forever. My bigger concern is what path his legacy is heading. Haven’t we learned form Tupac that we should appreciate the old music that made album cuts, instead of trying to make a buck? There was a reaosn michael’s new releases weren’t popular anymore, whether it be my generations thoughts of him (im 15), or the fact he dominated the 80s and 90s charts. The bottom line is all record companies see when a big artist dies are dollar signs. I think its time to put the unheard records away, and embrace Michael’s classics. RIP Pac and MJ, you are two kings and nobody can take your throne.

I do not think there is anything to debate, especially forever. It’s a fake. Shame on Sony! What a pack of greedy crooks.

  56. Doubter

I wish Sony would come out and say the truth about this. How did they come across this song, how much have they changed the vocals from the original material. (Maybe they have and I have not heard of it?) Something is just a bit off with this song.

Some parts clearly do not sound like Michael, the fact that he is saying own name like this in a song seems very strange, the last part of the song is not powerful enough like his songs usually are.

Just let us know what they had to work with and how much that has been changed. Then maybe it will make sense.

“Everybody wants a piece of Michael Jackson”, hummmmmmm — sounds just like “Everybody talking all this stuff about me” – My prerogative – Britney Spears. Same melody, different lyrics, different singers.
