Monica searches for true love on “Anything (To Find You),” the first single from her 7th studio album New Life, tentatively due October 4. The ’90s-inspired record, produced by Missy Elliott, samples the Notorious B.I.G.’s “Who Shot Ya?” Monica takes listeners back to R&B’s glory days with her soulful voice, Rozay channels Biggie, and the Queen Bee delivers a short, yet stinging verse.

The mother of two, who found her own Mr. Right in Lakers star Shannon Brown, explained how the new album will sound. “You get to hear some different flavors, but it’s definitely R&B,” said Monica, who has also been in the studio with her cousin Polow Da Don. “I think when you’re in a happy place, you’re able to do your job a lot easier.”

Lil Kim’s verse is MOST DEF not on the level of someone who claims she still has THE CROWN. Kim’s verse is similiar to my Church Easter Speech I gave at 5 years old. Monica has such a pure voice; I love how she sounds on Missy’s productions. This is a good song and I agree with other comments saying that Lil Kim sounds really good on this track. It’s cool that it features both Rick Ross and Lil Kim but they don’t really overshadow Monica. It’s well balanced.
