Iggy Azalea commanded our attention with her provocative video for “Pu$$y.” Now Australia’s baddest rap chick flaunts her ferocious style in the vibrant video for “My World,” another cut off her mixtape Ignorant Art.
Following a cameo from Tiny Lister, the blonde bombshell licks golden cotton candy, paints a wall in a cheerleading uniform, and holds a Doberman on a leash while strutting through the streets in her fly attire. We dare you to step into Iggy’s world.
@Rhi Rhi, Um…and do you not realize that you are COMPLETELY disregarding the COUNTLESS European, etc. artists who MORE OFTEN THAN NOT sing with an American accent. You seem like someone who doesn’t realize (nor care) whether an artist is from another country or not, based on the fact that they sing with an American accent.
@KIMMMYblanco, Good question. All that does it cause artists unnecessary, senseless hate. But if some people didn’t compare then they’d have nothing to talk about. Unfortunately too many people like starting mess. *sigh* Too bored, I guess.
@Rhi Rhi, why do all country and western singers sound the same regardless of where they come from?? Does anyone think it weird keith urban sing with an american accent?? NO so whats the diff?
@WOOWWOWOOW, Awards? RIAA Certifications? I-tune singles? Female Rap records? Fan-Base? Overpowering Jay-Z and Kanye on the same track? Tour with top Female Pop-star? Tour with top Male Rap star? Shows? Better? We’ll see.
Not hating. Actually a fan of Iggy & hopes she does well, but Nicki has set a VERY high bar for the next female rapper trying to get in the game.
I dig her energy, and her music keeps my attention. The American hood accent on a blonde-Australian chick is curious, and her flow reminds me of Kid Sister; but all in all, the music is still hot!!!
I kinda dig her sound & her whole (imma bad bitch persona), but it just seems to fake/contrived/almost a mockery of black culture (iin the same vein as Kreayshawn).
so i dont know whether to be offended or just take it as another branch hip-hop has spawned.
I think she’s better in the fact that she’s not trying to be something that she’s not. You can tell the authencity of her persona whereas kreayshawn she saying stupid, stuff and questionable things when you ask her about her lyrics she’s acts shady. Iggy is doig rap music but she’s going everywhere acting stupid. I like her. sidenote: and she stating a true fact this is a white mans world so it is in fact her world. lmao.
kreayshawn aint got shit on this new white bitch new iggy. Iggy dnt get kreayshawn on any of ur albums until the day u dead. good gurl. imma check u out & holla @ cha ya dig
The fake accent is just that. FAKE therefore she is fake. Hip hop is about who u are ur experiences. Not faking a down south accent cause ur ashamed to be from racist ass australia. I don’t believe she writes her rhymes. I listened to her mixtape n a lot of shit sounds like male writing/perspective. Plus I’m not into bitches doin the SAME OLD thing. Sellin pussy. Sex sells not talent. Fuk hip Pop
Australian chicks rapping it up don’t sound very Australian anyway. Usually the guys sound extremely Aussie. She may have been brought up in America anyways so she could have a twang. Hip Hip is a cultural aspect so who are we to say she ain’t raised American? She maybe half oz half US it happens.
YUP she did move to the states at a young age. She was born in 1990 and moved to the states in 2006. At 16 she definitely could have gained an accent and to be still living over there to this day, she definitely got the accent.

Another reason: Americans would complain. Trust.

@Rhi Rhi, Can you imagine how ridiculous she would sound rapping in an Aussie accent? That accent doesn’t go with this style of rap AT ALL.
