Rick Ross pulls out the Maybach and cruises through his Miami hometown at night in the video for “Stay Schemin’,” a cut off his new mixtape Rich Forever.

Drizzy comes along for the ride, spitting a fiery verse that will raise eyebrows. “It bothers me when the gods get to acting like the broads/ Guess every team doesn’t come complete with ni**as like ours,” he raps in the wake of his beef with Common.

In addition, Bad Boy’s newest signee French Montana raises his profile with an appearance on The Beat Bully production.

@Nk, Ludachris is not a “real artist.” His career is driven by singles. You just made your argument and taste in music extremely questionable with that last sentence, and common might be in the game, but he barely touches the court (if at all), so it makes where he’s coming from extremely questionable when he, out of no where, writes a diss to someone who’s did nothing to him and has to mention it in one of the few interviews he got.

I like both Common, and Drake. Common is one of the most underrated, greatest rappers in hip hop history. Common is a talented lyricist who never sold out for mainstream hip hop. Common’s albums have not always been top selling, platinum albums, but Common’s new album The Dreamer/The Believer album got great reviews, plus Common makes good music. Drake is considered by some people to be one of the top 1O best mainstream rappers in mainstream hip hop. I never thought Drake was the best rapper alive, because I can name 4O rappers better than Drake. Drake is just more popular on the radio and TV than Common is. Its old school vs. new school. I think Common won the battle, but Drake won the war in the eyes of mainstream media.

@Shade, I disagree, I think Nas’ Ether was way better than Jay-Z’s Takeover, the lyrics on Ether was great and right on point. I like Takeover as well, but when Nas came out with Ether, everyone was like “Got damn, this is hot”. I believe Common is better than Drake on any lyrical level. If you listen to all of Common’s albums, you will see that Common got great lyrics. Drake is great, but I think Common is much more to the table when it comes to spitting great lyrics.

@TRA, What are you talking about? His lyrics weren’t spot on. I liked Ether but it was filled with teenage level disses. Jay-Z was killing Nas with FACTS on Takeover. Like I said…people only like Ether better because it was more aggressive, but Jay-Z still won that with just that one verse. Anyone who really pays attention to lyrics knows that.

And I have listened to Commons albums too. Drake is a better lyricist. You can argue whether Common is more hip hop or whatever or make better hip hop records. I don’t care. When it coms to lyrics. Not many people are on Drake’s level whether it’s on a Rap song or R&B song.

Hip Hop heads like common more because they can relate to him more and like that ignorant “hard shit”. They both spit real. But if you really listen to both and study the way they say things and the meaning behind them and the flow and everything. You’d see the truth.

@Shade, I said before, that I like both Common and Drake. I belive Common and Drake are both great for hip hop. Both Common and Drake bring something different to the hip hop table. Common is a self-conscience, political rapper, and Drake is an alternative, mainstream, R&B rapper. I like Common’s music, and I like Drake’s music. In my unbiased opinion, I believe Common is a better rapper than Drake. Let’s say for example, that the new Common is not better than Drake, that’s okay, because every great rapper falls off at some point in their rap career, unless you are Kanye West, Jay-Z, and Eminem, and you plan on staying relevant for a extremely long time. I don’t think old school hip hop heads and old school hip hop fans love Common because Common spits gangsta, ignorant stuff. Common has never been a gangsta rapper at all. I believe the number one reason why old school hip hop fans love Common is because Common is a great rapper who puts out great music. The second reason why old school hip hop fans love Common, is because Common has stayed relevant for almost 18 years, and still underrated, which shows that Common has serious talent. The third reason why old school hip hop fans love Common is because Common came from the golden age of hip hop in the 1990s that saw great rappers like 2Pac, The Notorious B.I.G., Nas, Jay-Z, Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg, Scarface, Geto Boyz, N.W.A., EPMD, De La Soul, A Tribe Called Quest, Wu-Tang Clan, The Roots, LL Cool J, Outkast, and several other great rappers at that important time in hip hop. Drake comes from new school hip hop that feature top mainstream rappers like Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, J. Cole, Nicki Minaj, and a few others. I don’t think old school hip hop fans completely hate Drake, I think old school hip hop fans have more respect for Common than Drake, that’s all.

New school mainstream hip hop fans will say that old school hip hop fans are being completely biased towards Drake, and I doubt that is true. I believe Common’s Resurrection, Like Water, Like Chocalate, Be, Finding Forever, and The Dreamer/The Believer albums are better than all of Drake’s albums right now, but I know that everyone in the world is not going to agree with me on my opinions. Music is always subjective and objective. I believe Common won the battle in the eyes of old school hip hop fans, but Drake won the war in the eyes of new school mainstream hip hop fans.

It never really matter if Common won the battle or not, because Drake will always be more popular than Common, and Drake will always sell more records than Common. For example, I still believe Nas’ Ether was better than Jay-Z’s Takeover. Takeover had great facts, and the lyrics were great, but Ether had great facts, the lyrics were great, and Ether felt more vile and angry than Takeover. All hip hop heads felt Nas won the battle, but Jay-Z ended up having a better career, and a better catalog of albums than Nas. Similar to Common and Drake’s beef, Nas won the battle because Nas had more respect in the streets from old school hip hop fans, but Jay-Z won the war because Jay-Z had more respect from new school mainstream hip hop fans, and Jay-Z put out more hit songs as time went along as well. I believe Common is a better rapper than Drake, but we will have to agree to disagree on some things, but I do agree with you on some things also. I believe old school hip hop fans like Drake, but I don’t think they respect Drake as much as they respect Common. In order for Drake to win the whole entire respect of old school hip hop fans, Drake has to continue to make great music for a long time.
