It’s really cool because this is a departure from her pop singles. Even though she’s had plenty of more R&B-sounding records, she’s never given them the single treatment, so this will be very interesting. Of course her voice is always perfect, and you can’t go wrong with a 40 Shebib track, but… I just don’t know. I don’t see how this is gonna amp up the energy for the album (in other words, climb up iTunes/Billboard charts, or fit in radio rotation). But we will hope for the best for sure. I guess they are delaying iTunes for more than a month to see if it gets enough buzz.

@RP, I agree with every thing you said. Blackground used to be a force when JoJo first came out, promotional appearances, videos, but after a while, nothing. Ever since it has become public knowledge that she is having trouble with her record label, it appears to be that Blackground has become a double edge sword for JoJo, cutting her and letting her hold the blade all at once. This single is HOT. But, to wait until the end of August to release it on iTunes, when it already has a MASSIVE buzz on social media…piss poor move on her label’s behalf. I just downloaded it for free via hulkshare then, when the mastered version becomes available, I’ll re-download it so JoJo can get her coins.

I love how absolutely sick the beat sounds on this song. Jojo has a winner on her hands. I only have one problem; she knows that this is a “make-or-break” single. Why would she release it almost a month and a half after the buzz she has received tonight? It should be on Itunes soaking up the twitter and urban blog buzz. Hopefully her management will realize the positive reception and quickly send it to itunes. It also needs proper promotion and it needs to be sent to all three major radio genres: Top 40/Rhythmic/Urban

@Jab, But range is lower notes as well. Brandys lower register is stronger and more clear than Jojo’s, Jojo’s upper register is bigger because they are in two different vocal groups a contralto & soprano.
JoJo falsetto is airy and weak though.

It’s boring. I think she trys to imitate Aaliyah too much. No one can duplicate Aaliyah (often imitated, never duplicated). You can’t force sexiness, it is something that you are born with.

She needs to lighten up some. R&B is too heavy of a sound for her. Her voice would sound better in pop.

This song is 10 times better then Disaster.JoJO is suited for Rnb.I don’t know why people don’t like(LOVE IT).Its fire I smell a hit playing on pop and RNB stations on the radio.

why her label would decide to leak this so damn early and tell everyone that they have to wait until the end of next month to buy it, is beyond me. Since this is gonna be a single. don’t tell us this and not have it out at the same time. people actually want to buy her music but if the option was there to get it early and for free, how many people do you think would do it? I love Jojo and I’m going to try and hold out but this means now, I’m going to annoy the radio stations now, BlackGroundMusic needs to stop playing

@IV., Even if she put a rapper on it (Drake) obviously it won’t get heavy airplay. Because Drake has like 4 songs on the radio, and artist have a certain amount of songs that could be on the radio. Her best bet is to get J Cole, or just herself.
