Just weeks before the new year, Fantasia surprises her fans and drops her new single “Lose to Win.” No stranger to relationship drama, the “American Idol” champ gets real on the mid-tempo R&B number.
“Have you ever needed someone so bad?/ But he ain’t willing to make it last/ Sometimes you gotta lose to win again,” sings the soulful songstress on the empowering anthem, which will be available on iTunes on January 8.
Fantasia is currently in the studio readying the follow-up to her 2010 album Back to Me. Get a taste of Tasia’s new music below.
those verses have a similar melody to baby makin’ Hips. This is what I’m talking about…A singer who can sing, and has the proper material to back her up. Some sangers have boring ass music, but Tasia is really stepping her game up with this one.
I love this song as everyone should know Fantasia captures the heart of more older people but young people can relate also…..i love her cause she’s very different and not scared to channnel her old skool soul
i love this song fantasia come on girl 2013 is your year the girl can just flat foot sang tasia this will be your crossover era love you tasia any more grammys to come
This is amazing! Fantasia is on the come up and all you hatin hoes and foes BETTER give her the props she deserves! This song is fire! I see you over here Tasia!
yes mam tasia the r&b game has been missing something smooth and upbeat like this!!!! U sound great!!! they tried to count you out but you are standing strong. CLAIM YOUR VICTORY!!!
Fantasia welcome back show these r&b chicks how to do this man people can say whatever they want but she knows how to give u goosebumps and she pours her heart into her stage performances welcome back our American Idol
Fantasia Fantasia Fantasia Fantasia!!! GREAT SINGLE CHOICE!! Love the sample!! i saw you on the red carpet at the soul train awards and you said you were taking a rock/soul approach… i think that’s a good direction for you.. Tina Turner did it and succeeded and you have the voice for it also. GOOD JOB LOVE U TASIA!!!!
Love her. The song sounds like it would be a grower. Very Jimmy Jim and Terry Lewis. Fanny has always sounded like a singer from another decade. One back when it was all about the music. She is great- welcome back!
I love it! Fantasia is in a lane of her own vocally. Musically it sounds like something I can see my Queen Bey doing, which isn’t a bad thing at all. ;)
I can’t deny that seeing Fantasia misspell the title track to her song was an absolute turn off.
I commend Fantasia for joining the likes of Chris Rock, Mary J. Blige, Drake and others in getting her G.E.D. However, it shows that a G.E.D. is not necessarily comparable to a H.S. Diploma and the G.E.D. recipient has to study or read a lot afterwards to strengthen their skills.
Fantasia gotta do better. I got use to seeing misspelled words in her tweets, but to misspell the name of the song you are trying to promote, is shameful. Especially, when it is a 3-letter word.
Paris Hilton nor Drew Barrymore have their H.S. Diploma or G.E.D. So Fantasia did accomplish something great. I mean look how happy Drake is at his G.E.D. achievement. But Fanny has turned me off from the track and she should choose another track.
@Justine, honey it’s not that serious. She didn’t actually misspell anything she used it in the wrong context just like people mess up the use of there and their all the time. People make spelling/grammar mistakes online all the time including people with PHDs. The fact is she, Mary J Blige and others with low education are making more money then most people criticizing them so they are obviously doing something right.
Some blogs are also messing up the title calling it “Loose To Win” instead of “Lose To Win” which is even funnier because those two words mean and sound VERY different lol.
@Justine, WTF! Please stop it! People use cell phones and auto-text cause misspellings all the time. And if you were at all paying attention, she clarified that after people were attacking her for it. Are you that ignorant and stupid to think that this woman didn’t know how to spell the name of her song… you people are beyond mind boggling creatures! Don’t believe everything you hear.. Fantasia is nowhere near stupid…That’s why she’s RICH and you’re not! This and everything she does is a BUSINESS! Get some of your own and stop being critical of people!
@Justine, You should choose another life! you are beyond RETARDED! A misspelling, accidental misspelling at that caused you to hate an entire song! How shallow are you? better yet, how old are you! Have several seats and don’t speak again!
I’m loving the song the more I hear it! The chorus I think could have been better if she either sang it alone or 3 part harmony. Either or but not the one voice singin and moaning in the back. Also the person doing that dum dum dum needs to be removed from the track. It’s ugly for the feeling of the song. If it was part of the song then I could understand but it is extra, too much extra. But I’m happy that Fantasia is bring that soul back. The only problem is she gonna keep the vibe when she sings it live. She has a tendenacy lately to do that gospel growl all the time and lose the flow of songs like this. All the best to you Tasia!
