New Music: Chris Brown – ‘Fine China’

Fine China

Chris Brown breaks out the “Fine China” on the first single off his sixth album X. The retro R&B love jam was produced by Leon “RoccStar” Youngblood Jr. and PK and co-written by Chris, RoccStar, Sevyn, and Eric Bellinger.

“When you hear that, it’s gonna be something that Chris hasn’t done yet,” Bellinger told Rap-Up TV. “He really, really went back to the days of Sam Cooke, but we were still able to keep it 2013 at the same time.”

X is due later this summer featuring contributions from Kendrick Lamar, Nicki Minaj, Rihanna, Polow Da Don, Timbaland, Pharrell, Drumma Boy, and Danja.

The song is cool. Sounds like actual R&B which is what he was going for. I wish he would’ve collaborated with JT on this album too.

@Good Stuff, My friends saw the video at school and they loved it and they are black. There is nothing wrong with CB using Chinese female or anyother race. This song is great. CB is back with the slayage.

Lmao did someone really say Suit & Tie is better than this?! Please lay off the bath salts. And to the person who said his career is over because he put an Asian or Chinese woman in the video is an asinine thing to say. The song is called “Fine China.”

it’s true .. 2013 will be for justin tim … it will be difficult for chris brown with his competitors like miguel , franck, bieber and usher come back too .. it’s why his album is in august because he knows that …

I said a long time ago that Chris Brown would never regain lost fans until he ran from controversy and went back to R&B roots. Yeah, Chris….this is a start. I realllly like this. Now all he needs to do is bury the differences with Drake and Frank (The people I know who listen to them like some of Chris’ music …. don’t scare off potential supporters) and dump the auto tune, electro-pop/dance music. I have no problem with that sort of music, but I’d rather hear it from artists who really started out that way. Again, great song.

The intro reminds me of ‘No church in the wild’

This is why R&B is dying, because of the type of ignorance that I am reading on here. First of all no one person can dominate unless the fans let them, the R&B arena is wide open for all artist, why should Chris or Frank or anyone else sit back and just let JT dominate, there is enough room for everyone to make good music, just like back in the day, when Boys to Men, Jodeci, Blackstreet and all the other groups were all on fire at the same time. This is the shot in the arm that R&B needs to get it back on track. I will support good music no matter who it is, all this stupid stanning and stan wars is ridiculous. Good music is good music. PERIOD.

It’s a decent song, I’m not madly in love with it on my first listen, but it might grow on me. The video is cool nod to MJ and the cliff hanger was mildy interesting. And comparing Chris Brown to JT is dumb, they are on 2 different levels of superstardom; no R&B singer except Usher has ever pushed the kind of units, or had the kind of billboard success Justin just had except Usher in 2004.

    [Reply]

    Good Day Reply:

@JHP, Does it really matter there both rich and they both have sold records. Chris Brown is in the public eye, on tv and in the media way more than JT is and he hasnt ever had the big sales JT has had so its whatever to him.

This is just ok to me. His straining vocals are really annoying. He should take his time before coming right out. I can tell he smokes from his voice smh.

I have to say this is the first song I’ve liked from Chris since “She Ain’t You.” It’s nice to hear some uptempo R&B music instead of another ballad or mid-tempo snoozer.

I like the song. Im happy he is staying away from the techno shit, its time for artists to move away from that sound. However he is a dickhead, he really should keep quiet when ppl ask him about his Beefs with Frank Ocean or Drake take Jay Z’s approach and let your music do the talking
