Video: Chris Brown – ‘Fine China’

Chris Brown

Chris Brown leaps into action in the cinematic video for “Fine China,” the first single off his upcoming album X.

Breezy shows his romantic side and some slick moves in the martial arts-themed clip, which he co-directed with Sylvain White (Stomp the Yard). The song is rumored to be inspired by his relationship with ex-girlfriend Karrueche Tran.

“I wanted to go with a film director to set the mood and bring that artistic side to it. I’m not one who always loves to stand in front of the camera with flashy cars and big booty girls all the time,” he told Billboard. “In this video, you’ll see me taking care of the girl, doing gentlemanly things—showing another side of me. I know my female audience sees it. But the naysayers might say, ‘No, that’s not him.’”

Chris told Angie Martinez that he plans to release 10 music videos by the time his album drops in July or August.

I’m Sorry But This Is Video/Song Is TOO Much Like Michael Jackson’s. He’s Trying TOO Hard To Be Like Him. There’s A Difference Between Being Inspired By Him & COPYING Him. Idk. I Just Expected CHRIS BROWN, Not Chris Brown Aka TryingToBeLikeMJ.

Is a talented artist.. He just needs to learn to be
Himself and to find his own style and groove that’s
    Uniquely his..

    [Reply]

    Heat Reply:

@ShadeNOShade, If you read his 1st interview with NY Post he clearly said that this song and video is for MJ! He always did a pt2 of the the video as a tribute! He’s not trying to be MJ! It’s crazy to read a comment like that when clearly every artist that look up to Michael have never did any songs in honor of him. Was MJ trying to be James Brown? Only young people would think that! I happy he trying to keep MJ memory alive. People over 40 understands!

    [Reply]

    Mrs_Breezy Reply:

@ShadeNOShade, I don’t think you understand Chris’ reason for this video/song.. MJ is his inspiration/idol so of course most of his work will be similar to his. But as far as him trying to be MJ, never! Chris loves MJ, he’s not trying to copy him, he already stated that the video was a tribute to MJ. None of these artists today have done that. Even Ne-yo has some of MJ in him, so he’s copying MJ too right?

  28. Chris Brown | Single + Video Premiere, “Fine China” | PaulyPopWorld

[...] Today, Breezy delivers us the single and video premiere of “Fine China,” the lead single off X.  The 60s groove-based R&B track was produced by Leon “RoccStar” Youngblood Jr. and PK and co-written by Chris, RoccStar, Sevyn, and Eric Bellinger. Bellinger told Rap-up.com that, “when you hear [Fine China], it’s gonna be something that Chris hasn’t done yet. He really, really went back to the days of Sam Cooke, but we were still able to keep it 2013 at the same time.” I’d say that’s an appropriate description! Directed by Sylvain White (Stomp the Yard), the music video takes Brown to the next level in the martial arts-themed cinematic video. Taking on the role as the sexy, projective boyfriend, the clip pays much homage and respect to Michael Jackson (specifically the “Billie Jean” video). In this video, you’ll see me taking care of the girl, doing gentlemanly things—showing another side of me. I know my female audience sees it. But the naysayers might say, ‘No’, that’s not him (source). [...]

    What is this MESSS!!

Can he not have his own personal style, why must he always be doing these MJ Tributes. Does he think that he will gain mj fans if he mimics him? loool. He is either Following the latest trend in music or Trying to be MJ! It’s boring and embarrassing it’s another reason why nobody respects him or takes his art seriously. Frank Ocean and Miguel remain above him and his lackluster music.

Lord another flop era coming his way kii

    [Reply]

    channelPink Reply:

@yellow gorrilah, You can’t ask him to put out music like Frank and Miguel because he came from a different time period then them. Chris made generic R&B music. Not neo soul.
