New Music: Angel Haze – ‘Wrecking Ball’ (Acoustic Cover)

Angel Haze

On the heels of her powerful freestyle to Macklemore’s “Same Love,” Angel Haze tackles Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball” for her “30 Gold” series.

Instead of rapping, the Detroit-born MC shows off her vocal chops by performing an acoustic cover of the No. 1 hit. Over the stripped-down instrumental, Angel belts out the original lyrics.

Hear her showcase her voice in an entirely new way.

Her cover sounds somewhat like Rihanna!

Love this. Nic rebirthed female rap and she could’ve stuck to the script and been fake and pretend to be a boy like her predecessors but she decided to be her girly self. Now these other female rappers are more themselves. Lauryn Hill opened the door for female rappers to sing but I’m glad Nic brought it back so girls like Haze can do something nice like this

I like her better as a singer than a rapper, I would love to see her fuze rock, and r&b together

“Def Jam said I’m no Lauryn Hill
Can’t rap and sing on the same CD
The public won’t get it, they got A.D.D.”
SO NICE! It’s basic vocals but I like that she rap and sing. Thanks Lauryn and Nicki for allowing females to rap and sing (Angel&Azealia) AND do pop (Iggy)
