Joey Bada$$ Drops Notorious B.I.G. Tribute 'Brooklyn's Own'

  /  03.10.2016

Brooklyn, stand up. After feuding with Troy Ave, Joey Bada$$ delivers a brand new BK anthem via “Brooklyn’s Own.”

Over Statik Selektah’s boom-bap, Jozif Badmon flows smoothly, dropping lyrics about his hometown and how “there’s a genocide going on outside.”

Released on the 19th anniversary of the Notorious B.I.G.’s death, the song also acts as a tribute to the late Brooklyn rap king. The cover art even features Biggie lyrics from “Sky’s the Limit”: “If the game shakes me or breaks me, I hope it makes me a better man.”
