J. Cole to Take Break From Touring

  /  10.03.2016

J. Cole fans will have to wait “a long time” before seeing the Dreamville boss on stage again.

During his headlining set at The Meadows Music & Arts Festival in New York on Saturday (Oct. 1), Cole World announced his hiatus.

“Before I get out of here,” he said. “This is my last show for a very long time.”

Although Jermaine didn’t clarify the statement further, Dreamville president Ibrahim Hamad added to speculations on Twitter with a cryptic message of his own.

“For the last show to be in Queens,” he tweeted, “man that was special #FestivalCole #Dreamville.”

It’s unclear what Hamad meant by “the last show.”

Some speculate Cole could be taking time off the road to focus on new music. He released his latest studio album, 2014 Forest Hills Drive, in 2014, which was followed by this year’s Forest Hills Drive: Live LP.
