Video: Ab-Soul - 'D.R.U.G.S.'

  /  12.07.2016

With less than 48 hours until the release of DWTW, Ab-Soul unleashes the music video for “D.R.U.G.S.”

The black-and-white visual opens with letters on fire that give fans a better understanding of the song title: “DON’T RUIN US GOD SAID.” From there, the clip is drenched in symbolic imagery, including balloons, pills, roses, and an apple on fire.

Featuring additional uncredited vocals by Mac Miller, the song finds Soulo reflecting on the many loves in his life, including his mom, his family, his music, and his listeners. “Last but not least,” he adds. “I love drugs.”

Brooding visuals continue as Soul raps at a foggy mirror about everything from his father’s passing to abortions. “That was their decision, for the record,” he adds. “Just clearing my conscience / That don’t make it better, ni**a.”

In the end, love continues to shine, as Soulo calls his mom from Paris. “I love you,” he tells her. “I’ll be back soon.”

DWTW, featuring appearances by Mac Miller, SZA, and ScHoolboy Q, among others, is due Friday (Dec. 9).
