Nicki Minaj Shoots 'Run Up' Video with Major Lazer

  /  01.29.2017

Fresh off the release of Major Lazer’s PARTYNEXTDOOR-assisted single “Run Up,” Nicki Minaj filmed a video for the dance-ready track this weekend. Live from the set, the hip-hop superstar revealed photos and a video message to fans.

“Hey Barbz,” she said. “It’s me. I love you. I fucking love you so much. And I’ve missed you a little bit and I have a lot of stuff in store for you.”

Many longtime fans were surprised to see her rocking the classic “Barbie” chain in the video. Soon, however, Nicki revealed that it was actually a new and improved version of her signature pendant. “This is actually a new piece… I have to look for the old one,” she tweeted. “This new one definitely leveled up… with the carots.”

Sporting a strapless, revealing denim bodysuit and Christian Louboutin heels, Nicki also shared flicks from the set. In one, she’s posing by herself. In another one, she’s laying on a blue rug with other girls around her. “When @Diplo call u & say #RunUp went top 10 on the worldwide iTunes chart w/in 24 hrs. Not US…. the worldwide jawn,” she captioned the group shot. “thx u guys!”

2017 is shaping up to be a big year for the newly-single superstar. In addition to readying the follow-up to 2014’s The Pinkprint, she has collaborated with Nick Jonas on “Bom Bidi Bom” for the Fifty Shades Darker soundtrack. David Guetta also recently revealed that Nicki and Lil Wayne are slated to appear on his next single.

“Nicki got some features that — I’ve been in the studio with her lately — that she’s just killing,” Young Money president Mack Maine said earlier this month. “She also gonna be working on her solo project.”
