Wale Remixes SZA's 'The Weekend'

  /  01.11.2018

SZA continues to inspire her peers. After Paramore covered “20 Something” onstage, Wale takes a stab at remixing another track off Ctrl with his own version of “The Weekend.”

Folarin rhymes about cheating on the track, which focuses on nudes, monogamy problems, and Netflix and chill, while breaking down his weekly routine.

“Maybe I’m just selfish,” he raps. “Got old lady coming on Monday / Her crazy ass is back Wednesday / Tuesday’s for me, the raps / Thursday, I’m with she again / Friday I’m with she and yeah, Saturday, I gotta leave her fast / Because I need her passionately.”

Folarin and Solana have worked together in the past. In 2015, the duo linked up on “The Need to Know” off Wale’s critically-acclaimed The Album About Nothing.

This is just the latest SZA cover to hit the scene. In the past, Maino, Miguel, and Khalid all covered “The Weekend” with their own renditions, while Alessia Cara and Paramore took on “Drew Barrymore” and “20 Something.”
