Drake Shows Love to Kevin Durant After Injury

  /  06.11.2019

Drake was in his feelings after Kevin Durant’s injury during the NBA Finals.

Despite their rivalry on the court, the Toronto rapper was visibly shaken up after seeing the Golden State Warriors small forward suffer a serious Achilles injury during the second quarter as the Warriors took on the Toronto Raptors during Game 5 on Monday (June 10).

While some Raptors fans cheered, Drake appeared to be devastated for his friend. As Durant hobbled past him, the 6 God reached out and grabbed his shoulder while trying to console him. At one point, he even appeared to mouth the word “f**k.”

Durant will have an MRI to confirm if his Achilles tendon is torn and will miss the rest of the Finals because of the injury. On Tuesday morning, Drizzy took to Instagram to send KD some words of encouragement.

“Was tough for any of us to even enjoy that game tonight after seeing this transpire. Praying for our brother,” said Champagne Papi. “That’s my only concern tonight is your well being. ‘The game needs me’ is an understatement when it comes to 35. Please wish the best for this true warrior.”

He also chided a Canadian Instagram account for celebrating KD’s injury. “Nah bro we can’t rock with this post,” he wrote in the comments. “Take this down.”

Despite the injury, the Warriors still managed to defeat the Raptors 106-105.
