Beyoncé Leads NAACP Image Awards Nominations

Beyoncé is bringing her “Black Parade” to the 52nd NAACP Image Awards.

After leading the Grammy nominations, the pop icon received the most nominations of any artist in the music categories with 6 including Outstanding Female Artist, Outstanding Music Video/Visual Album (Black Is King, “Brown Skin Girl”), and Outstanding Soul/R&B Song (“Black Parade”).

Other top nominees in the 16 recording categories include Ledisi with five nods, followed by Alicia Keys, H.E.R., and Chloe x Halle with four, and Drake, Big Sean, Jhené Aiko, and PJ Morton with three each.

In the Outstanding Female Artist category, Beyoncé is up against H.E.R. (“I Can’t Breathe”), Jazmine Sullivan (“Lost One”), Ledisi (“Anything for You”), and Alicia Keys (Alicia).

The nominees for Outstanding Male Artist include Big Sean (Detroit 2), Black Thought (Streams of Thought, Vol. 3: Cane & Able), Charlie Wilson (All of My Love), Drake (“Laugh Now, Cry Later”), and John Legend (Bigger Love).

For Outstanding Album, the nominees are Alicia (Alicia Keys), Brandy (b7), John Legend (Bigger Love), Jhené Aiko (Chilombo), and Ledisi (The Wild Card).

Voting is now open in all categories, which extend across the fields of television, music, literature, and film. Winners will be announced during the two-hour ceremony, airing live across ViacomCBS Networks on Saturday, March 27, at 8 p.m.
