Kehlani awakens. After being interviewed by 2 Chainz, the Bay Area songstress was part of another intriguing SXSW Q&A with Canadian journalist Nardwuar.

During her 10-minute interview with the Human Serviette, Lani Tsunami spoke about her fascination with Star Wars, which apparently runs deep.

“Since I was little, me and my brother weren’t allowed to watch real action movies with real guns,” she explained. “So my mom just figured if it was play violence and they were killing aliens and not people then we’d be cool.”

After getting some Star Wars memorabilia, Kehlani also discussed some of her early jobs, Bay Area legend Mac Dre, stealing groceries, and performing with Stevie Wonder.
