Hip-hop and R&B’s biggest names came out to party on New Year’s Eve, ushering in the new year with celebrations across the country. From Vegas to Times Square, here’s how the stars welcomed 2017.
Miami was the place to be for some. John Legend and Chrissy Teigen celebrated the new year at Nikki Beach in the MIA. With daughter Luna back home, the couple snapped an adorable pic with Chrissy on John’s back.

Justin Bieber was nearby, counting down at Fontainebleau, where he asked fans to make out with one another. “Grab someone’s face,” he said. “And kiss it. Look right to the person beside you and make out with her right now…Grab her face and see if she’ll let you do it.”
Nicki Minaj also closed out the year in Miami, hitting the beach in a bikini before heading out to E11EVEN nightclub, where she hosted a lucrative gig after Jennifer Lopez pulled out. There, she met up with friends and relatives, including her “lil cousins” for a night of fun and champagne.
Speaking of Champagne, Nicki’s OVO labelmate Drake brought in the new year hosting an event at Hakkasan in Las Vegas, where he toasted to his enemies.

His “Poetic Justice” collaborator Kendrick Lamar was also in Vegas, counting down to 2017 at Drai’s Beach Club. Down the strip, DJ Khaled, Diddy, and French Montana did the same at TAO with an F-bomb filled performance and an ode to Chris Brown. Bruno Mars was also nearby, putting his pinky ring up to the moon during his second of two back-to-back shows at the Park Theater at Monte Carlo.
Things were lit in L.A. too. Travis Scott capped the year off with a performance at The Observatory in Santa Ana, before heading down to West Hollywood’s Nice Guy. That’s also, coincidentally, where A$AP Ferg brought in the new year with Kendall Jenner and Justine Skye.
