Childish Gambino has the summer on smash.
The rapper-actor brings the heat with a “summer pack” of two breezy new tracks—”Summertime Magic” and “Feels Like Summer.” Both songs were co-written and co-produced by Gambino and Ludwig Goransson, the team behind the chart-topping “This Is America.”
“Summertime Magic” is a romantic and nostalgic jam about summer love. “You feel like summertime / You took this heart of mine / You’ll be my valentine in the summer,” sings Gambino.
“Feels Like Summer” is a laid-back Sade-inspired bop. “You can feel it in the streets / On a day like this, the heat / It feels like summer,” sings Gambino over the lush percussion.
“Summertime Magic” is the first official single from Gambino’s forthcoming debut album on Wolf+Rothstein/RCA Records. It marks the follow-up to “This Is America,” which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and went platinum in just three weeks.
This fall, he will hit the road with Rae Sremmurd and Vince Staples on a North American tour, starting Sept. 6 in Atlanta.
