New Music: Mary J. Blige – ‘25/8’![]() Mary J. Blige is giving you her love “25/8” on the blissful new single off her 10th studio album My Life II: The Journey Continues, due this October. The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul effortlessly glides over the soulful Eric Hudson-produced beat. “‘Cause I got days and days of love for you boy/ And I don’t wanna have to rush, but 24/7 ain’t enough/ ‘Cause I got so much love for you boy/ I need another hour and a day so I can love you 25/8,” she sings. The R&B veteran has been in the studio with Pharrell, Rico Love, Swizz Beatz, and Jermaine Dupri working on the sequel to her 1994 landmark album My Life. One listen and you’ll remember why MJB is still the MVP.

@IAMME, Mary J. Blige has been successful for 20+ years. All of her albums have gone platinum and she has a plethora of #1′s and top 10′s. Her fanbase is SOLID, and she isn’t going anywhere. I love Rihanna and Gaga, but let’s see if they will be around 20 years from now….

I’m sorry but Mary J. Blige is irrelevant to what music is now, she is so much better. (No disrespect.) But she should just stay with her old school vibe and make music like this! She will still make mad money making songs like this for these negro baby mamas on welfare who think they have a good man. You be seeing these woman singing songs like this! If she steps out of this lane people will say MJB is lost or she don’t know what to do next. (Where to go musically)

It’s so weird to see Mary struggle so late in her career. She always has been consistent (somehow)….but lately everything has been lackluster…she’s struggling to find the right single

Mary has all kinds of vocals. She can sing with U2, Andrea Bocelli, Sting and then turn around a jump on a track like this. Its called Greatness. The only other versatile artist like this is Aretha Franklin. Mary is our Aretha. These little young kids better google Mary’s history. It didn’t begin 10 years ago. This woman has been doing it for almost 20 years. This is a fine moment for the Queen. 25/8 is a throw back to years gone by, yet has the relevant feel for today. Hot ass song Mary!!!! can’t wait the album
