« On Set of Game and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony’s ‘Celebration’ Remix VideoNew Music Premiere: The-Dream – ‘AK47’ »JoJo Readies ‘Agape’ Mixtape for December![]() JoJo doesn’t want to keep her fans waiting any longer. The pop singer is readying a new mixtape Agápē for release next month.
The title, which means “unconditional love” in Greek, is also the name of a puppy she adopted. The free project is set for release on December 20 and marks the follow-up to her 2010 mixtape Can’t Take That Away From Me, which spawned the single and video for “In the Dark.” “This mixtape is meant to be experienced when you have 27-28 minutes to go on a little journey with me and listen to some stories,” explained JoJo. “There are interludes, outerludes, random shit, my dad playing harmonica, and a conversation between my whole family at Thanksgiving.” She is not holding back any longer. “Because I JUST HAVE NO F*CKS TO GIVE!!!!” she said. JoJo released the Noah “40” Shebib-produced single “Demonstrate” over the summer, while her third album is still awaiting a release date. ![]() You can leave a response, or trackback from your own site. 33 CommentsLeave a Reply

@Guyanese Princess, no the ones that don’t give a shit are her “many fans” because they get the bootleg version of her songs therefore not supporting her. No album will get released if the singles don’t build momentum, it’s just how it works.

@Natasha, I don’t believe that. She made videos for both “Disaster” and “Demonstrate,” but where are they? Something fishy is going on at her label…

@Guyanese Princess, disaster in on iTunes and so is another song she released named sexy to me. Music videos are often not released because once it is released, everyone involved needs to be fully paid so its cheaper if they don’t. The only thing that is fishy is that most artists do not know that their music bombs sometimes because they are so caught up with everything that is going on, she’s probably mad at her label but that’s what they NEED to do.

@Natasha, are you FROM her label, you are saying some really fishy-anti Jojo things and making up excuses where they’re should be none.
Is it that horrifically DIFFICULT to set up a single a release date, follow through with both and then put an album up on Itunes, it’s really THAT difficult for Blackground to do such simple things. Random nobody’s and cover artists and talent show singles get there stuff on Itunes all the time.

@TheHighRoad, like. Said before, when something gets released, everyone involved needs to be fully paid, producers, songwriters, etc. it’s a waste of money for them to release it if its not gonna be successful. A lot of people do release stuff on iTunes without it being successful, but by doing that they are taking risks in losing money which background apparently is not in the position to do.

@Natasha, WTF ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? HER LABEL DON’T EVEN HAVE MONEY TO PUT HER SINGLES ON ITUNES. sO HOW CAN WE SUPPORT? stfu IF YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT..

@Natasha. girl bye. get the facts straight. Blackground is barely a label anymore. They can’t put Demonstrate on Itunes cause they have no funding. The label is o it’s last string and they wont let JoJo out of her contract. She is just wanting for the dismantle of Blackground.

@Ryan, lol you dont need funding to get your song on itunes. does it help to have a label behind you? sure. but she could have done that by her self. thats what the up and comers do.

@randy, difference is up and comers don’t have contracts. She either has to release through blackground (a label that isn’t functioning right now) or give it out for free

Her album will be never released if this goes on and on or she doesn’t go independent. enough JoJo. I don’t believe in you anymore for a long time now.

@StrangerInMyHouse, HER CONTRACT DOESN’T HAVE A TIME LIMIT SO ITS UP TO HER LABEL TO RELEASE HER AND SHE SAID ON TWITTER THAT THE LABEL IS BROKE, HAS NO EMPLOYEES AND LOST THEIR DISTRIBUTION DEAL WITH INTERSCOPE.

Didnt Jojo already go to court and win the lawsuit against Blackground i remember when they said she won 500,000 dollars in the case or something. They need to let her RELEASE HER ALBUM. Its been 6 years. Why are they doing this girl like this when shes 10 times more talented than any female artist signed to a major label? Interscope is her distributer and shes signed to a joint venture i think they should help the girl out. Disaster was such a great song which got screwed by the video which was horrible. That should have definately been jojos comeback single i was shocked when it didnt do well on Billbaord. Demonstrate i think still has a shot if the videos released.

@Factual, Interscope dropped Blackground which meant they had to let JoJo go. Because of her stupid contract she is stuck with the idiots at Blackground. Every artist on that label has sued them (timbaland, toni braxton, tank etc etc). Aaliyah and Static both died or I bet they would have eventually sued as well. These people are con-artists. They get innocent people to sign horrible iron-clad deals with them. Im sure JoJo will be suing next

FYI: Blackground Records has no money, no employees and no artists. They were still counting on this new Aaliyah album to make bank for them (which I doubt). Interscope dropped them a long time. JoJo is pretty much stuck, and I feel bad for her. I can’t knock her hustle though because shes ALWAYS working!

She also made a video for The Other Chick which never got release. Blackground is the worst label of all time. Sucks that they wont release JoJo.

so why the hell can’t blackground find employees??? if they’re THAT broke…smh I’m glad that Jo gets to release free music on her own terms but her situation is truly saddening.

@factual she actually only sued ‘da family’ label and broke off from them but is still stuck with Blackground. It kills me how she didn’t sue both..

this sucks because she is an amazing artist and we all know why it’s taken so long. Every chance that she could’ve been successful, her label has screwed her. petition.org, hashtag, do whatever it takes to help kill Blackground for good and get Joanna the team that she needs so that she could FINALLY release her album because this is depressing. I was waiting for Demonstrate when they announced the date it would be on iTunes and had a huge “WTF” look on my face. I’ll be waiting for her mixtape to drop, but this is like watching somebody be slowly tortured to death.
